FAQs
How does this tool differ from the White Background Tool?
The Transparent Background Tool replaces the matching background pixels with transparent alpha pixels (exporting as PNG). The White Background Tool replaces non-white or colored backgrounds with pure solid white (#FFFFFF).
How do I avoid cutting out parts of my subject that share similar colors?
Lower the tolerance slider so that only pixels that closely match the outer corner background color are stripped, leaving the subject intact.
Why does my downloaded photo have a white background instead of transparent?
Make sure you download the file in PNG format. If you choose JPEG, the JPEG format automatically fills all transparency with white.
Can I make scanned document signatures transparent for digital signing?
Yes! It is one of the most popular use cases: upload a photo of your handwritten signature on paper, remove the paper background, and save a clean transparent signature PNG.
Are my private signatures and graphics uploaded to any server?
No. All pixel calculations occur 100% locally on your computer inside browser memory.
